PAPUA BILUMS are hand woven from natural fibres of the Lepai tree from the province of Sepik . Each Bag is hand crafted by local Papua women , where fibrous strands are extracted from plants , soaking fibres are then twisted together to create individual natural colours and textures . Unique in every piece . The practice is handed down through generations of the Sepik tribal people , as a timeless craft of a staple in every home .
